Landmand ready for its third season Acclaimed course ‘in best condition ever’, says GM

HOMER, NEBRASKA,– The much-acclaimed Landmand course in eastern Nebraska is about to open for its third full season, and the course is in the best shape it has ever been, according to general manager Adam Fletcher.

“This is really the first season we have had where the turf is fully established going into the summer,” says Fletcher. “I’m really excited for the golf season ahead – those who are playing here are going to see the course at its best ever.”

Owner and developer Will Andersen agrees. “I drove round the course for two hours very recently with superintendent Pat Fischer, and I thought it looked fantastic – and it hasn’t looked like that before here!” he says.

Andersen is particularly pleased that the Landmand course is not demanding so much of his time, as he has other things on his plate – completing the rebuild of the family’s other golf course, the nearby nine-hole Old Dane, which architect Trevor Dormer is in the middle of reinventing as a twelve hole loop. “The Old Dane projectis going very well,” he says. “Five holes are rough shaped, six and seven are making good progress, and Trevor is just about to shape what we expect will be a signature feature, the volcano green on the eleventh hole. We’re in great shape to have the build finished this year, which should mean we’ll be able to welcome some preview play in 2026.”

Landmand has a lot to live up to. For the third year, the course’s management team put the entire inventory of tee times for 2025 up for sale on New Year’s Eve last year, and the entire season sold out in less than an hour!

“We know the success of Landmand, and the buzz that has created, means that visiting golfers come here expecting something really good,” says Adam Fletcher. “But we have total confidence that the golf course, combined with the brilliant work of Pat and his team, and the outstanding welcome that our entire staff provide, will allow us to more than meet those expectations.”
